Warranty

1. General Provisions

1.1. These terms apply to insect screens manufactured by SIA “RIPO International”, registration No. 40003120298 (hereinafter – the Seller) (hereinafter – the Product).
1.2. The warranty covers any lack of conformity of the Product with the contract that existed at the time of delivery or becomes apparent during the warranty period, including manufacturing defects and material non-conformities.
1.3. The conformity of the Product with the contract is assessed based on the Product description, technical specifications, and order parameters provided by the Seller, as well as the intended use of the Product as defined by the Seller and normal conditions of use.
1.4. Subjective expectations, assumptions, or interpretations of the Buyer that are not directly supported by the information provided by the Seller shall not be considered a lack of conformity.
1.5. These terms do not limit the consumer’s statutory rights under:
1.5.1. the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the Republic of Latvia;
1.5.2. Directive (EU) 2019/771 of the European Parliament and of the Council;
1.5.3. other applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union.

2. Warranty Period

2.1. For private individuals (consumers), the warranty period is 24 months from the date of delivery.
2.2. For business customers, the warranty period is 12 months from the date of delivery.
2.3. The warranty applies only to defects resulting from manufacturing faults or material non-conformities.
2.4. The warranty period defines the Seller’s period of liability for any lack of conformity of the Product with the contract and does not represent the expected service life of the Product.
2.5. The actual service life of the Product depends on factors such as frequency of use, installation quality, environmental conditions, and general operating conditions.
2.6. Any information regarding the durability or longevity of the Product is provided as a general indication only and does not constitute a guaranteed service life.

3. Custom-Made Products

3.1. Products manufactured according to the Buyer’s individual measurements or specifications are not subject to the right of withdrawal, in accordance with Cabinet Regulation No. 255 of the Republic of Latvia “Regulations on Distance Contracts” and Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council.
3.2. The following are not considered warranty claims:
3.2.1.  errors resulting from incorrect measurements or specifications provided by the Buyer;
3.2.2. minor technical or visual variations that do not affect the functionality of the Product.
3.3. Installation or use of the Product shall be considered as confirmation that the Product complies with the order.

4. Scope of Warranty

4.1.The warranty covers:
4.1.1. manufacturing defects;
4.1.2.incorrect production of the product;
4.1.3.structural or material non-conformities;
4.1.4. deviations from the ordered specifications, if caused during production.

5.Warranty Exclusions

5.1. The warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:
5.1.1. improper installation or assembly;
5.1.2. incorrect use or operation;
5.1.3. normal wear and tear;
5.1.4. mechanical damage or external impact;
5.1.5. deformation of the surrounding structure (e.g. window or door frames);
5.1.6. modifications or repairs carried out without the Seller’s prior approval;
5.1.7. actions or interference by third parties;
5.1.8. use of the Product for purposes other than its intended use.
5.2. The warranty does not cover natural wear and tear, including the insect mesh material and moving parts that wear out during normal use.
5.3. The warranty does not apply to damage caused by moisture, temperature, or other environmental factors if such conditions exceed normal operating conditions or are inconsistent with the intended use specified by the Seller.
For the purposes of this warranty, normal operating conditions are defined as use of the Product within the climatic conditions of Latvia and the European Union, in accordance with the Seller’s installation and usage instructions.
5.4. The warranty does not cover damage caused by force majeure events.

6. Submitting and Handling Warranty Claims

6.1. The Buyer must notify the Seller of any defect as soon as reasonably possible after it has been discovered. For business customers, any detected defect must be reported no later than 3 (three) working days from the date of discovery. 6.2. The Seller may request:
6.2.1. photo or video evidence;
6.2.2. a detailed description of the defect;
6.2.3. submission of the product for inspection or expert evaluation.
6.3. Each claim is assessed individually.
6.4. If the inspection determines that the defect is not related to manufacturing or material issues, the Seller reserves the right to:
6.4.1. reject the warranty claim;
6.4.2. request reimbursement of reasonable costs related to diagnostics, transport, or inspection.
6.5. If the product needs to be returned to the Seller’s production facility, the delivery arrangements will be agreed upon between both parties.
6.6. If a warranty claim is approved, the Seller will cover all costs related to transport, repair, or replacement.
6.7. The Seller will review the warranty claim and provide a response within 5-10 (five to ten) working days from the moment all necessary information has been received and, if required, the Product has been submitted for inspection or expert evaluation. If, due to objective reasons, the review requires more time, the Seller will inform the Buyer accordingly.

7. Seller’s Obligations

7.1. If a valid warranty claim is confirmed, the Seller will, at its discretion:
7.1.1. repair the defect;
7.1.2. replace the product or its defective part;
7.1.3. or issue a refund if repair or replacement is not possible.
7.2. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Seller is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
7.3. Any repairs or replacements carried out under this warranty do not extend the original warranty period.
